Trading FAQ

Books with torn covers, loose pages, water damaged or soiled by dirt or food, library books, textbooks. We may, at time-to-time, refuse books we are overstocked in.

Book Fair is QUARANTINING BOOKS FOR 1 WEEK before we will look at the books for sale or trade. Please be prepared for leaving your books for a week in a box or bag with your name, phone number & previous credit note if you have one.

We DO NOT hold books for trading purposes. Books put aside for future pickup are CASH ONLY.

Are books we have a good supply of. At the time being these are General and Historical Fiction, Biographies, Fictional War, Movies, and Canadiana.

Please have any questions or concerns about your credit explained before you leave the store. We enjoy being in business and that means that you have to be happy with the credit you receive.

If you want Archies or Funnies, you must bring in the same type. Archie comics may be traded for Superhero comics, but if you bring in Superhero, you must take them out. This is because of supply and demand.

Paperbacks up to six months from publication (not reprints) will receive 20% MORE CREDIT providing the books are in "LIKE NEW" condition.

* This does not include Harlequin/series Romances.

Book Fair Customers receive 2/3 CREDIT or 66% of OUR SELLING PRICE when trading.

The TYPE of books you bring into trade will be the SAME TYPE you take out.

• Romance for Romance (Harlequin/series)
• Magazines for same type Magazines
• Mystery for Mystery
• Non-Fiction for Non-Fiction
• Archie Digests for Archie Digests
• Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Sci-Fi/Fantasy
• Westerns for Westerns
• Classics/Literature for Classics/Literature

All books brought in for trade should be left at the front counter before looking for others.

There are many types of books we don't buy (or trade). These include hardcover General Fiction, Historical Fiction, Biographies, textbooks, library or school books, encyclopedias and some types of magazines.

Your unused credit may be used at another time - there is no expiry date. Please make sure any unused credit is recorded before you leave. All unused credit is subject to GST (cash).
